Kids Korner: Frost Paint

With temperatures dropping I thought it was the perfect time to try out this frost paint. It's simple to make and of course it's cheap! Click below to read how to make frost paint.

What you need:
  • Epsom Salts (Can be found at the Dollar Store or in the health and beauty aisle of any major store or drugstore)
  • Boiling Water
  • Dark Colored Paper (Blue, Purple, Black)
  • Paint Brushes
  • Crayons
For the frost paint you will need to mix equal parts of Epsom salts and boiling water. 1/4 Cup of each will do about 3 pictures. Start the water boiling while the kids start to color their pictures.

After the water boils, mix together 1 part Epsom salts & 1 part boiling water. Stir until the salts dissolve.

Once the salts have dissolved start painting the frost paint over the entire picture. Avoid the edges to reduce the paper curling. Don't spread the paint too thin or your frost will be too clear.

Let your paint dry and after about 10-15 minutes you should start to see the frost forming. This would be super as Christmas cards from the kids!
