Kids Korner: Slime

Gak, Goo, Flubber, Slime, whatever you want to call it this stuff is neat. My kids loved this activity and I'm pretty sure I'm like the coolest Mom ever for letting them make slime (well for at least the next 5 minutes anyway). Here's how you can be a cool Mom too.

Make your own Slime:
  • Borax (Found near laundry detergent, I think I paid around $3-$4 at Wal-Mart)
  • Water
  • White Glue (Like Elmer's, I purchased mine at the Dollar Store and I got 2 for $1)
  • Food Coloring (Optional)

Mix 1 tsp. Borax with 1 Cup of water in a small bowl until Borax is dissolved. In a separate bowl mix 4 oz. (1 Cup) of glue, 1/2 Cup of water and food coloring if desired. Combine the Borax mixture and the glue mixture into one bowl and start to stir. Soon you will see the slime start to develop. The more you work the mixture the better it will be. Once it's the desired consistency you...I mean the kids can start to play. A quick warning about this activity if you use food coloring be careful to keep it away from furniture, carpeting or clothing that you are concerned about staining.
