Frugal Organizing

Is one of your New Year's resolutions to get organized? I am determined to make this the year that I get everything in order. I often stare in awe at all of the pretty organizers at the home improvement stores but unfortunately they just aren't in our budget. So I have found 10 great ideas for using a cheap shoe organizer to get organized and keeping to our budget. Over the door shoe organizers! Here are some of the great ideas I found online for other uses besides shoes! Check em' out!

1. Bathroom Storage: There are days where I can not find our bathroom counter. (That's 98% my fault but I'll never admit that to my husband) Between the shaving cream, razors, countless cosmetics, toothpaste, brushes, etc. it's a constant battle to keep it clean. So why not utilize the bathroom door and toss all of that stuff into a shoe organizer. You can get clear ones so you can easily see what you're looking for quickly and it will keep your bathroom counter tops nice and clear.

2. Hair Accessories: With two little girls I can never seem to keep all the hair accessories organized so I fell in love with this idea!

3. Arts & Crafts Supplies: I currently have milk crates filled with my craft supplies and it is totally not functional. This is also great for kids craft supplies!

4. Cleaning Supplies: Clear out that space under the sink and make your cleaning supplies easier to find and reach!

5. Herb Garden: Do you have limited space for gardening, or just want the herbs close to the kitchen? Plant an herb garden in a shoe organizer! Brilliant idea. Would also be neat with a clear one for kids to plant seeds and watch them grow.

6. Travel Sized Items: As a couponer you will pick up lots of travel sized items freebies or money makers. A shoe organizer is a great tool to keep them organized.

7. Plastic Wrap, Foil, Baggies etc. : I have never had much luck with the plastic organizers they sell for these items nor are they ever big enough to store everything a shoe organizer in the pantry would be just perfect. (Now if I only had a pantry!)

8. Seasoning Packets / Snacks: Another great way to get that pantry organized.

9. Small Toys: I hate toy boxes! They are the least functional thing ever and all the small toys always end up lost at the bottom so a shoe organizer is a great home for all those little toys.

10. Gloves, Mittens, and Winter Hats: This would be great to hang right by the door for kids and even adults to put your winter wear in as you come in the door.
