Supper at Home Sundays: Big Mac Like McDonald's

Today's Clone Recipe is for the McDonald's Big Mac. I love making clone recipes at home because it's cheaper and it's fun! My hubby loves Big Macs so this is one I make at home often.

Makes 4 Big Macs

1/2 Cup Mayo
2 TBSP. French Dressing
4 tsp. Sweet Pickle Relish
1 TBSP. Finely Minced White Onion or Re-hydrated Minced Onion
1 tsp. White Vinegar
1 tsp. Sugar
1/8 tsp. Salt
1 lb. 80/20 Ground Beef
4 Sesame Seed Buns
Lettuce
Hamburger Pickles
4 Slices American Cheese
2 TBSP. Finely Minced White Onion or Re-hydrated Minced Onion
Salt

Seperate the Ground Beef into 8 equal portions (about 2 oz. each if you have a kitchen scale) roll into a ball the size of a golf ball. Place a sheet of wax paper onto a cookie tray and flatten each of the balls into a very thin patty. Cover with another sheet of wax paper and place the cookie tray in the freezer.

Combine Mayo, French Dressing, Vinegar, Relish, Onion, Sugar and Salt into a small ball. Stir to combine, cover & refrigerate.

Finely chop lettuce until well shredded. (You can buy bagged shredded lettuce if you prefer but I'm too cheap to pay someone to cut mine lol) Set aside.

To make the middle bun that is on the Big Mac you can either cut a thin slice from the top part of the bun or if you have extra buns you could always use the bottom of an extra bun slice a very thin layer off of the bottom and you have a nice middle bun. (Use the tops of the bun to make bread crumbs for later use)

Ok, Time to cook. Heat a skillet to Med-High Heat. Remove your patties from the freezer (I'm sure you didn't need me to tell you that) and toss two patties into the skillet. Cook for about 1-2 min on each side.

Now it's time to assemble! Here is the order (Of course you can make it according to your taste!)

Bottom Bun
Dressing
1/4 TBSP Onion
Lettuce
Slice of Cheese
Beef Patty
Middle Bun
Dressing
1/4 TBSP Onion
Lettuce
Pickles
Beef Patty
Top Bun

Now that your Big Mac is assembled it's time to eat, and share if you choose. Enjoy!

Thanks Top Secret Recipe!
